CDT Chair update - April

Committee of Doctors in Training Chair Dr Emma Hodge thrilled to work with Dr Tash Abeysekera and Dr Nikhil Dwivedi as Deputy CDT Co-Chairs and introduce our incredible Special Interest Group (SIG) leads for this year.

  • Dr Andrew Beatty – Education and Training SIG Lead
  • Dr Conor Brady – Digital Health SIG Lead
  • Dr Jasmine Davis – Wellbeing SIG Lead
  • Dr Douglas Brown - Industrial Relations SIG Lead
  • Dr Eliza Cropp - Rural and Remote SIG Lead

The Digital Health SIG is a new addition for 2025 and reflects the growing relevance of technology in clinical practice, training and workforce planning. We are keen to unpack how digital systems influence the experiences of doctors in training and can’t wait to see what this group will deliver.

We recently had a very successful Medical Careers Expo, with a huge attendance of medical students and junior doctors eager to explore their future pathways. Thank you to everyone who presented, exhibited or supported the event - you made it a standout success.

Our next event, the Junior Doctor Conference, is set to be even bigger. With a dynamic lineup of speakers, practical workshops and invaluable networking opportunities, it is a must-attend for anyone in the early stages of their medical career. There are still some seats available if you are quick! We are especially excited to be returning to the Fraser Coast, continuing our commitment to supporting and celebrating regional junior doctors. Looking forward to seeing you there!
