Applications now open for procedural training grants for rural GPs

This week applications opened for Round 7 of the General Practice Procedural Training Support Programme (GPPTSP). This programme helps GPs in ASGC-RA 2-5 locations attain procedural skills by providing a $40,000 grant to undertake training in anaesthetics or obstetrics.

The grant enables GPs to gain either the Advanced Rural Skills Training in Anaesthesia from the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) or the Advanced Diploma of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

For information on the selection criteria and guidelines for the anaesthetics component visit the GPPTSP page on the ACRRM website. For information about the obstetrics component visit the GPPTSP page on the RANZCOG website. Applications for both components of the programme close on Thursday, November 17, 2016
