Medical Benefits Consultative Committee

The Medical Benefits Consultative Committee (MBCC) is a forum established by agreement between the Minister for Health and Ageing and the AMA to facilitate discussion on reviews of the General Medical Service Table (GMST) of the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS). Its major function is to review particular scheduled services and consider new items. Representatives include the AMA, medical practiotners from the respective craft group, the HIC and the Department of Health and Ageing.
