The AMA is active in ensuring that older Australians have access to appropriate health and care services.

The AMA has a Committee on the Care of Older People, and a broader consultative Advisory Group on the Care of Older People.

The AMA is a founding member of the National Aged Care Alliance, a partnership of consumer, health professional, union, and service provider national organisations in aged care.
