UpToDate – special DiT member offer
The AMA is offering DiT members a 25% discount on a one-year subscription to UpToDate, an evidence-based, peer-reviewed information resource available on the web and handheld PDAs.
By being part of the AMA group subscription to UpToDate, DiT members will pay only US$180, which includes shipping and handling, on the normal one-year subscription rate. The AMA only needs 100 DiTs to sign up to this deal to make it happen.
To join the AMA group subscription, simply download the UpToDate subscription form. Return the UpToDate subscription form directly to the AMA at the address provided. The AMA will collate the subscription forms and submit them to UpToDate as a group order.

AMACDT Leadership Development Dinner 2009
The AMA National Conference will be in Melbourne on 29-31 May 2009. As part of the conference, the AMA will be hosting its annual DiT leadership development dinner on Friday 29 May. All doctors in training and medical students are invited to attend.
Michael Milton, the champion skier, cyclist and Paralympian will be the guest speaker. Michael has also overcome cancer on two occasions. It will be a fascinating and inspiring evening.

Review of RANZCP training program
The AMA has made a submission to the Australian Medical Council’s current review of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists training program. Read more
Governance and organisation of clinical training
The AMA has made a submission to the National Health Workforce Taskforce discussion paper on options for managing clinical placements, including funding arrangements for clinical training, and the role of the national health workforce agency that was announced by the Council of Australian Governments in November 2008. Record GP registrars start training in 2009
A record number of new GP registrars have commenced training this year, with all 675 of the Commonwealth Government-funded GP training places filled. The AMA, which has been campaigning tirelessly for increased GP training places, has welcomed this development. Read more
